On a character filled commercial block on the fringe of Brisbane’s CBD, ROTHELOWMAN has designed a building that is set to be a catalyst for redevelopment in the city’s emerging cultural district.

Austin, located on the corner of Grey Street and Fish Lane, is a 20 storey project comprising of 140 apartments and ground floor retail tenancies, wrapped in a distinct architectural form.

A development that will populate and animate an under utilised lane way site, ROTHELOWMAN’s design response is inspired by the site’s immediate environs.

Expansive city and river views will be created from all parts of the building, while it’s external design take cues from the eclectic collection of heritage and cultural buildings nearby.

At the head of Fish Lane, the site creates a robust architectural language, one that can be built upon as adjacent sites are developed over the coming years.
