Background

Small Giants Developments (SGD) engaged Communications Collective (CC) to devise and implement a three-month communications strategy for The Commons project in Hobart, and to raise the profile of the company as a leading ethical developer. The Commons Hobart is an innovative, well-designed and sustainable development with a unique engagement process that embodies the values of small-footprint living.

Strategy

Communication Collective’s highly targeted campaign was focused on building awareness of The Commons Hobart by profiling SGD and the project, and introducing key, newsworthy project details to tier-one property, design and news media via focused pitching and one-on-one interviews. Corporate profiling played a key role in the strategy, to educate the wider market about SGD’s unique vision, mission and model for the development of sustainable, ethical projects.


Outcomes

CC’s campaign assisted with driving interest in the project from prospective buyers, as well as engagement from the local Tasmanian community. The campaign was a huge success and was positively received by media nationally, with more than 25 pieces of coverage secured in key target publications such as The Australian, Domain, ArchitectureAU and Australian Design Review. The extensive media coverage served to educate target audiences about sustainable living as a functional, desirable way of life.
