Work has commenced on the Docklands Library and Community Centre, located at the new intersection of Collins and Bourke Streets.

Hayball carried out the detailed design and documentation on this landmark project as architect of record engaged by Lend Lease. Clare Design, engaged by the City of Melbourne, was the design architect.

The three-storey facility incorporates what will be the Docklands’ first community library, along with multi-purpose community facilities and meeting rooms.

Constructed from a combination of engineered timber and reclaimed hardwood, the design features an advanced passive ventilation system for enhanced natural ventilation.

Hayball have also worked with Lend Lease and the City of Melbourne to detail a strategy for activity based retail in both existing and new spaces in Victoria Harbour, ensuring continued developments in amenity for residents, workers and library patrons.
