Recently Ken Maher, Chairman International Executive of design studio HASSELL and Professor, Facility of Built Environment, UNSW was invited by the Australian Financial Review as part of a special series featuring Australian business leaders to share his thoughts on the link between economic prosperity and transport infrastructure.

Ken details how effective infrastructure is the foundation to sustaining healthy, productive and liveable communities. As rapid urbanisation gains momentum globally, sound infrastructure planning and provision is critical to the function and success of cities and nations. This is especially the case in Australia where 90 per cent of the population live in urban settlements compared to a global average of 50 per cent.
