Melbourne’s Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) will again open its
doors this November to showcase its annual open-entry exhibition, CCP Salon.
Now in its 23rd year, CCP Salon is Australia’s largest open-entry photomedia exhibition and competition. This event provides a rare opportunity for entrants to exhibit their photography and video work in a professional, high profile context.
Supported by 23 national leaders in the photographic industry, CCP Salon awards $20,000 worth of prizes over 29 categories, with visitors invited to vote for their favourite image.
In the lead up to the event. Instagram users are invited to participate in the CCP Salon Instagram Project. Each week, followers of @ccp_australia are encouraged to respond to CCP one-word prompts and upload their submissions with the tags #diyccpsalon, @ccp_australia and @leica_australia.
Last year’s CCP Salon featured the most participants yet, with 589 entries exhibited from over 300 artists and $12,887 in sales. Opening night attracted 772 attendees, with the number of those people engaging in the three-week exhibition totalling over 10,000.

As a not-for-profit organisation, CCP generates over half its income through community engagement and support.
