The Communications Collective were engaged to develop a PR strategy and launch event for the release of new book The Casual Cyclist’s Guide by our very own and very talented Matt Hurst. A book exploring the city and the bike featuring guest contributors ranging from chefs to architects, designers to cycle-couriers, the guide is a unique companion for the Melbourne bike rider and visitor alike.

To create a uniquely Melbourne event suitable for the launch of a uniquely Melbourne publication, over 600 people from the city’s media, publishing, design and hospitality crowd gathered in a loft warehouse space in the city’s CBD.

From aligning sponsorship with premium alcohol brands to sourcing the special venue, the launch was a highly success- ful event that charmed all in attendance and delivered on all objectives. Within a month, the first print-run of The Casual Cyclist’s Guide sold out, it’s second print run selling out in another two months.
