The second annual prefabAUS conference is currently underway.
Focusing on the theme of ‘industry transformation’, prefabAUS has assembled industry experts from around the world to discuss how prefab is changing the design, building and manufacturing industries.
With prefab industries already widely established across Japan, Europe, USA and UK, Australia’s own sector is at long last emerging from the alternate to being at the forefront of the mainstream market.
Key issues to be addressed at this year’s conference include the benefits prefab construction can bring to infrastructure sectors such as health and education.
Among the speakers to address this issue will be Aladin Niazmand, Director of Health Planning & Healthcare Architecture at Health Projects International. Rob Adams, Director of City Planning at City of Melbourne, will speak to the role prefabricated construction will play in the future of Australian cities.
Other speakers confirmed to appear include Dr Dale Steinhardt and Dr Karen Manley, Prefabricated Sustainable Housing Research Project, QUT; John Wardle, founder and principal at John Wardle Architects; Laurice Temple, CEO of The National Association of Women in Construction; Ken McBryde, principal at HASSELL, and many more leading industry figures.
prefabAUS engages conference attendees to join in the broader conversation on prefabrication to be part of the transformation.
