By transforming a construction site into a one-night gala, Communications Collective helped Hayball mark their 30th anniversary with an evening that celebrated not just their past, but also their future.
To celebrate Hayball’s 30th anniversary, the architecture, interior design and urban planning practice invited Communications Collective to create and manage a unique event. The event would also serve as the launch of “Exchange: Collaboration, Convergence, Conversations” the Hayball-published journal profiling the role of architectural design in a rapidly changing world.
Understanding that the event’s environment would be just as important as what happened on the night, Communications Collective succeeded in transforming one of their active construction sites into a singularly unique backdrop. The Brew Tower, at the time without electricity of running water, underwent extensive preparation with hanging foliage, dramatic lighting and a bar installation, accentuating both the site’s history and Hayball’s commitment to compelling design.
More than 350 guests enjoyed the event, including Hayball’s clients, partners and staff as well as representatives from all major design, property and business media.
The metamorphosis of the heritage-listed Brew Tower from construction site to a one-night eden triumphed not only in a memorable evening but also a reminder of Hayball’s role in shaping the future of Australian developments.
