Alongside Orchard Piper and The Carter Group, we’re delighted to share that internationally renowned and family-owned COMO Hotels and Resorts has been appointed as the operator for The Carter Building at 448 St Kilda Road.
Marking the brand’s east coast debut, the 102-room hotel will occupy the first nine levels of the Kerry Hill Architects (KHA)-designed building. At its heart is COMO’s globally acclaimed wellness concept, COMO Shambhala, complemented by a new signature hospitality destination, with access extended to both private residents and guests.
With its hallmark commitment to exceptional service, holistic wellbeing and refined design, COMO’s arrival heralds a new era of ultra-luxury, wellness-led living in Melbourne.
Orchard Piper has reinforced its long-term commitment to design-led renewal of Toorak, achieving a record-breaking $125 million in pre-sales prior to the public launch of its latest Toorak Village development, One Toorak Place.
A collaboration with joint venture partner NPACT, One Toorak Place introduces a new model of hotel-style residential living to the suburb, alongside boutique commercial suites, curated retail and an integrated hospitality precinct by acclaimed restaurateur Chris Lucas. Designed by Kerry Hill Architects (KHA), the development is now over 30% sold by value in under three months.

Last month, we were delighted to welcome Australia’s design community for the exclusive unveiling of Royal Oak Floors’ latest collections – Natural and Heritage – at two intimate lunches in Melbourne and Sydney.
