Since its launch in 2016, The Commons has enjoyed a continued trajectory of successful and sustainable growth. As the business commenced its next phase of expansion, with plans to introduce ‘sister brand’ management agreements alongside industry leaders such as Stockland and Fortis alongside new ventures into the health, wellness and hospitality sectors, The Commons sought communications partner to craft a compelling narrative that showcased its history, achievements and core brand values – positioning the business for long-term success.
Solution
CC developed a strategic approach to position The Commons as a leader in human-centred workplace design, engaging media, industry professionals, prospective members, and the broader built environment. Key initiatives included media profiling to showcase The Commons’ locations, success stories, and alignment with key market trends, securing coverage across tier-one, design, local, and specialty media as well as brand awareness campaigns to support growth ambitions and attract prospective members to existing and new locations. CC leveraged a compelling brand storytelling to reinforce The Commons’ values, design philosophy, and commitment to sustainability, fostering trust among prospective members; worked closely with The Commons’ partner to develop targeted campaigns for new locations; and sought out new strategic partnerships and speaking opportunities to elevate the brand’s presence within the industry.
Execution
CC implemented a comprehensive media and communications strategy, centred on milestone-driven press campaigns. This included media engagement, stakeholder coordination, client interviews, and project-partner collaborations, ensuring widespread coverage across national, state, and industry-specific publications.
Results
Since partnering with CC in 2022, The Commons has further solidified its position as one of Australia’s leading creative co-working space operators, gaining increased market share by expanding from 11 to 15 locations, with three further locations set to open in 2025. Thanks to expanded brand visibility and credibility in the marketplace, two recent Sydney locations were at 80% tenancy before the buildings were completed. With CC as a strategic communications partner, The Commons in continuing to diversify its portfolio through expansion into the health and wellness sector with the announcement of The Commons Health Clubs.
